Explore Wine Travel: New Book Series Guides Vineyard Adventures

Travel lifestyle brand Exploring Wine Regions has launched its first title, Exploring Wine Regions: Argentina. In this inaugural volume of an 11-book series, author Michael C. Higgins, Ph.D., presents a richly detailed, insider guide intended to help readers and travelers discover Argentina’s most compelling wine regions. Higgins, the founder and former publisher of Flying Adventures magazine for private aircraft owners and passengers, spent multiple harvest seasons in Argentina cultivating relationships with oenologists, sommeliers and other wine professionals, including 107 winemakers.

Through his fieldwork and conversations, Higgins developed deep knowledge of Mendoza, Salta and Patagonia—the distinctive wine regions, their vineyards and unique terroirs—as well as the culinary traditions and winemaking practices that shape each area’s character. The book is produced as a high-quality, coffee-table volume by the International Exploration Society and is designed to appeal to both wine lovers and travelers. It will be sold through major retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Target and Amazon, in addition to specialty wine shops and other booksellers.

The Exploring Wine Regions series aims to expand beyond Argentina, with planned titles covering other premier wine destinations around the world. Future volumes are expected to explore California, Italy, France, Spain, Chile, Portugal, Germany, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, providing similarly thorough regional profiles, local insights and travel-oriented recommendations.

Each book in the series combines practical travel guidance with in-depth wine information: regional histories, profiles of notable vineyards and winemakers, descriptions of grape varieties and terroir, and notes on food pairings and culinary culture. Readers can expect a mix of background context for first-time visitors and insider tips for returning aficionados, making the series useful for planning trips as well as for learning more about the global wine landscape.

By leveraging firsthand experience from multiple harvests and direct collaboration with local wine professionals, Higgins offers an informed perspective that balances technical detail with accessible storytelling. The result is a visually appealing, informative resource suited to coffee-table display, gifting, or practical use on the road. As the series expands, it seeks to become a trusted companion for travelers who want to explore great wine regions with both curiosity and confidence.
