London-based design studio SZ Design unveiled its latest project, Lily’s Restaurant & Club, in Brussels, Belgium — an adults-only dining and nightlife destination that channels the glamour and warmth of the 1970s in the heart of the city.
Opening in March 2023, Lily’s transformed a previously nondescript venue into an elegant, flirtatious space that blends upscale dining with night-time entertainment. SZ Design conceived the full concept, creative direction and interior design, crafting bespoke furnishings and finishes including marble-clad walls with mirrored accents and custom pieces produced by the studio.

The design balances a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere with the opulence of 1970s style. The restaurant seats 150 across three distinct areas and serves lunch and dinner, while a bar and nightclub open on weekends. The main dining room uses a warm, earthy palette — amber, burnt orange and deep browns — combined with plush seating and upholstered chairs that create cozy, intimate corners. A cocoon-like section features marble-clad walls, a mirrored ceiling and luxurious carpet, evoking a nostalgic evening setting perfect for romantic dinners and lively nights out.
Towards the rear, a spacious indoor terrace offers terracotta velvet banquettes paired with biscuit-colored rattan chairs and two-tone wooden tables. Large windows flood this space with natural light, making it an inviting spot for midday meals and relaxed gatherings.

A third dining area shifts the mood toward evening service, with heavy olive-green drapery, upholstered bouclé tub chairs and parquet floors set beneath intentionally dimmed, seductive lighting. The result is a refined, intimate atmosphere that guides guests from relaxed lunches into sultry dinners.
The nightclub embraces a burlesque-inspired aesthetic, featuring Hollywood-style mirrors, corduroy-textured velvet walls and upholstered seating in deep rust and amber tones, along with marble-topped tables and touches of greenery to soften the glamour.
The menu reflects Mediterranean influences with indulgent preparations and refined ingredients. Dishes may include items such as tuna prepared lightly seared, foie gras with potato mousseline, Pecorino and Piedmont hazelnuts finished with a balsamic-toned jus, or a veal chop served with Béarnaise, capers, chervil, tarragon, roasted tomatoes and asparagus. The drinks list showcases French, Italian and Spanish wines alongside a creative lineup of signature cocktails developed by head mixologist Sam Bellan.
