Emirates to Launch the World’s Longest Nonstop Flight

Emirates will begin nonstop service to Panama City, Panama (PTY) starting Feb. 1, 2016.

This new route will become the longest nonstop flight in the world, with the westbound sector scheduled at approximately 17 hours and 35 minutes. It also marks Emirates’ first destination in Central America, extending the airline’s global reach to the region.

The service will operate daily using a Boeing 777-200LR configured in a three-class layout: eight first class seats, 42 business class seats, and 216 economy seats. The aircraft also offers substantial bellyhold capacity and can carry up to 15 tons of cargo, supporting both passenger and freight demand on the route.

Expanding its network further, Emirates plans to introduce four additional destinations later in the year: Mashhad, Iran and Orlando in September; Bamako, Mali in October; and Bologna in November. These additions reflect the carrier’s ongoing strategy to connect more cities worldwide with its long-haul fleet.
