Emirates Launches New Fort Lauderdale–Dubai Route: What to Know

Emirates has announced a new daily service between Dubai (DBX) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, launching on Dec. 15. This direct connection will link the Middle East with South Florida, serving Fort Lauderdale, Miami and West Palm Beach, and marking Emirates’ 11th passenger route in the United States.

The airline will operate the route using a Boeing 777-200LR configured in three classes: eight first-class private suites, 42 lie-flat business-class seats and 216 economy seats. The aircraft choice supports both premium and leisure demand on this long-haul route.

“Fort Lauderdale and Miami are two of America’s most exciting destinations for leisure and business travel,” said Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates. He highlighted that Broward and Dade counties together welcomed more than 25 million visitors last year, primarily from the United States and Latin America.

Clark added that the new service is expected to support South Florida’s economy by bringing visitors from across Emirates’ global network, while offering more competition and convenient one-stop passenger and air-cargo connections to international destinations. He noted that the airline’s recently launched non-stop Dubai–Orlando service performed strongly, influencing the decision to add Fort Lauderdale as the carrier’s 11th U.S. destination.

The daily Dubai–Fort Lauderdale route will expand travel options for passengers traveling between the Gulf region and South Florida, improving connectivity for both leisure travelers and business customers. By integrating Fort Lauderdale into Emirates’ network, the airline aims to enhance regional access to destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa and beyond, while supporting tourism and trade links between South Florida and the carrier’s global markets.

With the three-class Boeing 777-200LR, Emirates expects to cater to a variety of traveler needs—from private first-class suites and fully flat business-class seats for long-haul comfort to a sizeable economy cabin for value-minded passengers. The launch on Dec. 15 will add capacity during peak winter travel months, offering new routing choices for passengers and increased cargo lift for regional shippers.
