Emirates has unveiled a newly redesigned Airbus A380 Onboard Lounge that made its operational debut on a flight to Kuala Lumpur (KUL), coinciding with the ninth anniversary of the airline’s A380 service.
First introduced in 2008, the Onboard Lounge has become a signature feature of the airline’s double-decker fleet and remains one of the most popular social spaces in the sky. The refreshed design focuses on greater privacy and a refined social experience while preserving the lounge’s role as a relaxed gathering place for passengers.
The latest update introduces private yacht-style cabins alongside a more intimate communal area. The exclusive lounge now accommodates up to 26 guests and continues to offer a premium drinks selection, featuring fine wines and Champagnes including Moët & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot.
Alongside the A380 lounge refresh, Emirates announced plans to increase capacity on its services to Egypt from Oct. 29 by adding four additional weekly flights to Cairo (CAI). This expansion raises the frequency between Dubai (DXB) and Cairo to three daily flights, bringing the total weekly Cairo services to 21.
The extra frequencies will be operated using a 360-seat Boeing 777-300ER, adding 1,440 seats each way per week on the Dubai–Cairo route to accommodate rising demand and offer passengers more travel options.
