Disneyland Resort Holiday Celebrations: Events, Parades & Tips

Holidays at the Disneyland Resort began last month, inviting families and friends to create magical holiday memories together. The resort’s new Festival of Holidays showcases music, dance, food and festivities inspired by cultural traditions from around the world, offering a season of shared celebration and discovery.

Also new this year is World of Color — Season of Light, a nighttime water spectacular that combines cherished holiday music with classic Disney animation. The show blends storytelling, lights, lasers, projection mapping and fountains that shoot as high as 200 feet to form vast screens of water, creating a sparkling winter fantasy that delights guests of all ages.

Guests can continue beloved seasonal traditions across the parks, from Disney-themed treats to nightly snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A., festive décor and a full slate of holiday entertainment. Santa Claus greets visitors at a new location in Disney California Adventure Park: the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which has been transformed by elves into a whimsical playground filled with holiday games and activities. The daily entertainment lineup features nearly 50 performances across nine distinct shows, including character appearances, street parties, musical ensembles and dance sets. The seasonal programming honors Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas/Navidad and Three Kings Day, while the 50-foot Christmas tree on Buena Vista Street serves as a seasonal focal point for guests.

At Disneyland Park, several classic attractions receive unique holiday makeovers: It’s a Small World becomes It’s a Small World Holiday; Jungle Cruise is reimagined as Jingle Cruise; and Haunted Mansion transforms into Haunted Mansion Holiday. Throughout Main Street, U.S.A., festive touches abound—twinkling lights, garlands and 1,800 ornaments decorate the giant tree in Town Square.

Downtown Disney and the resort hotels also join the celebration with themed lights, ornaments and seasonal displays. A standout is the elaborate gingerbread house in the lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, measuring 7 feet, 6 inches tall and 12 feet wide. Guests can enjoy cider, snacks and hot chocolate served from a window in the gingerbread creation, enhancing the warm, festive atmosphere throughout the resort.
