The journey combines riverboat travel, four-wheel-drive game drives and guided walks, and includes a visit to Victoria Falls. The itinerary covers classic game viewing in multiple national parks, guided bush walks and a three-night cruise on Lake Kariba aboard the 16-guest African Dream. Guests can enjoy sunrise game drives and photography opportunities in Hwange National Park, a vast reserve where species such as African wild dogs, wildebeest and cheetah roam across roughly 5,600 square miles. In the evenings, unwind in the vintage comfort of Davison’s Camp, one of Hwange’s private camps.
Onboard the African Dream, accommodations are air-conditioned and comfortable. Dining features fresh local catch like sea bream, while the route offers frequent sightings of hippos, crocodiles and more than 350 bird species.
A naturalist Expedition Leader accompanies guests to explore Mana Pools National Park and its wildlife, including zebra, waterbuck and kudu. Departures begin in May 2020.
