Dearborn Inn Reopens After Meticulous Restoration — Ford Motor Company

The historic Dearborn Inn reopened on March 19 as part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection after an extensive renovation and restoration of the nearly 100-year-old property.

“Since 1931, the Dearborn Inn has been a significant piece of Dearborn’s history, and an important place for my family and the Ford community. I could not be happier that the Inn is reopening in service of Ford employees, and our broader community,” said Bill Ford, executive chair, Ford Motor Company. “But even more important than its past, the Dearborn Inn is part of Ford’s broader commitment to building for the future. I am thrilled to include the Dearborn Inn on the growing list of buildings across Ford and the community that we are restoring, which will be critical to our long-term success.”

Originally built by Henry Ford and designed by architect Albert Kahn, the Dearborn Inn now offers 135 guestrooms after a careful restoration led by Ford Land with support from Ford Motor Company’s archival team, the Ford family and other partners. Located across from the former Ford Airport, the inn was one of the country’s first airport hotels and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

“From the moment guests step through our doors, we want them to feel inspired by the history that surrounds them and by the trailblazers who once walked these halls,” said Joleisha Bradley, general manager, Dearborn Inn. “The hotel is both a welcoming retreat and a living museum, with historic artifacts woven throughout the property. We look forward to continuing the tradition of hospitality that has made Dearborn Inn so beloved.”

Artifacts from the Ford Archives are displayed throughout the inn, and guests can capture their stay with a vintage-style “passport” photo taken in a custom photo booth. Guestrooms blend period-inspired details with modern comforts and thoughtful in-room amenities for a welcoming stay.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Clara’s Table, honors Clara Ford with a menu crafted by Executive Chef Elliot Patti that draws on dishes Clara served to guests in her home. The cocktail bar and lounge, Four Vagabonds, takes its name from the famed quartet—Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, John Burroughs and Harvey Firestone—and celebrates the spirit of their road trips and friendship. A private dining room includes a mural by Detroit artist Ryan Herberholz.

Later in 2025, the Dearborn Inn plans to add five colonial-style homes that will provide 18 additional guestrooms along with expanded indoor and outdoor event space, further enhancing the property’s capacity for gatherings and overnight stays.
