The long-awaited opening of Hilton’s Conrad Los Angeles took place in July, marking the brand’s first property in California. Located within The Grand LA, Related Companies’ new destination for shopping, dining and entertainment, the 305-room hotel was designed by legendary architect Frank Gehry with interiors by Tara Bernerd & Partners.

Conrad Los Angeles houses two original dining concepts from Chef José Andrés and ThinkFoodGroup, a modern Conrad Spa Los Angeles and commanding views of nearby cultural landmarks, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The hotel’s contemporary design and prime location create a new luxury option for visitors and locals alike.
“We are excited to expand Hilton’s West Coast presence with the debut of the first Conrad Hotels & Resorts property in California, one of our largest growing markets in the U.S. This is a monumental occasion as we open the doors to this incredible property amid downtown Los Angeles’ development boom and we are looking forward to offering guests an unrivaled, luxury hospitality experience in this sought-after destination,” said Danny Hughes, executive vice president and president, Americas, Hilton.
San Laurel Terrace, located on the 10th floor, overlooks the Disney Concert Hall and serves breakfast as well as an evening menu featuring dishes like bone-in Wagyu ribeye, grilled romaine with manchego espuma and roasted celeriac carpaccio. Adjacent to San Laurel on the outdoor terrace is Agua Viva, the rooftop restaurant where Andrés blends Latin and Asian flavors. Menu highlights include a Txule ribeye burger, DIY handrolls and a piña borracha cocktail.

On the roof, the Airlight pool deck provides panoramic views, creative cocktails and a casual menu offering tiki punch bowls, grilled skewers and house-made frozen push pops. The pool deck is designed for both relaxation and socializing, with an emphasis on elevated poolside service.
The hotel lobby features an undulating ceiling that echoes the building’s sculptural façade, with floor-to-ceiling windows that blur the line between indoor and outdoor green spaces. The arrival bar presents a striking historical element crafted from 11,000-year-old glazed molten lava and polished stone, while Ceppo di Gre stone from Lombardy accentuates the reception area.
Art curation throughout the lobby and reception was developed with Judith Tatar of Tatar Art Projects, showcasing local and regional artists such as Mimi Jung, Ben Medansky and Brian Wills. California culture is reflected in Casper Brindle’s luminous portal-glyph paintings, and sculptural works by Jon Krawczyk enliven the hotel’s event lawn.
