Who doesn’t love a spooky address for Halloween? This year, two distinct Hogwarts-themed Halloween programs are staged amid the atmospheric halls, hidden rooms and shadowed grounds of Ireland’s Ashford Castle. Created with families in mind, each program blends themed activities, entertainment and dining in a setting that captures the magic of the season.
The first program runs on Oct. 26, 28, 30 and Nov. 1. It begins at noon with a Forbidden Forest treasure hunt, followed by a visit to Dingle the owl’s private quarters and a Chamber of Art painting class. These family-focused activities are designed for children to explore, create and enjoy hands-on experiences within the castle’s evocative spaces.
The second program takes place on Oct. 25, 27, 29, 31 and Nov. 2. Festivities start with a noon Hidden Garden treasure hunt, continue with the House Elves Little Helpers Cookery School, and include a visit to the Chamber of Witchcraft & Wizardry. Both programs conclude with a children’s dinner in the Ardilaun Suite, followed by a Harry Potter movie screening for younger guests while adults enjoy an elegant evening at the hotel’s George V Table d’Hote.
Accommodation options are priced per room. A one-night stay in a deluxe family room (two adults and two children under 12) starts at €522 (approximately $689). A two-night stay starts at €988 (approximately $1,305). Each additional child under 12 sharing the same room can be added for €95 (approximately $126).
These seasonal programs combine immersive activities, family dining and comfortable accommodations, making Ashford Castle a memorable choice for families seeking a Halloween experience with a touch of enchantment.
