Cathay Pacific Airways has announced a new four-times-weekly non-stop service between Hong Kong and Madrid, launching on June 2, 2016. This route is the only direct connection linking the two cities, offering greater convenience for both business and leisure travelers. The new service also provides passengers from southern Europe with easier access to destinations across Mainland China and wider Asia.
Cathay Pacific will operate the Madrid route using its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, configured with the airline’s award-winning business class, newly introduced premium economy, and long-haul economy seating. Travelers in all cabins will benefit from an advanced on-demand entertainment system, ensuring comfort and connectivity throughout the flight.
“We are delighted to launch flights to Madrid and become the only airline to offer direct non-stop services between Hong Kong and Spain,” said Ivan Chu, CEO of Cathay Pacific. He noted that network expansion remains a central strategy for the carrier, supporting Hong Kong’s role as a major international aviation hub. Cathay Pacific has recently grown its European network with new services to Manchester, Zurich and Düsseldorf, and the Madrid route further increases options and convenience for passengers traveling between Hong Kong and Spain.
Tickets for the Madrid service are now available for purchase. The schedule follows a summer and winter pattern, with flights operating four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
