British Airways opened its newest lounge last week, marking the airline’s third lounge in the United States, located at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
The San Francisco lounge is organized into several distinct zones to suit different traveler needs. Features include a central bar, a self-serve deli, and a quiet study area equipped with wireless printing. Floor-to-ceiling windows run along the lounge, offering sweeping views of the runway. First-class passengers have access to the Boutique Dining Room, which serves chef-curated menus and a selection of fine wines. Dining options for first-class guests include charcuterie boards, seafood dishes, pastas, and seasonal soups.
“We know that lounges form an important part of the journey for some of our customers, so we’re delighted to be able to open this new space in San Francisco, the third lounge in the United States to benefit from our investment program,” said Carolina Martinoli, director of brand and customer experience at British Airways. She added that the new space follows the same design concept as the airline’s recently refreshed lounges.
Customer response to the updated design has been positive, particularly from those who visited the New York lounge, and the San Francisco location adopts many elements of that successful aesthetic and layout.
British Airways continues to modernize and expand its lounge portfolio worldwide. Additional openings and redesigns are planned, with forthcoming lounges scheduled for Johannesburg (JNB), Geneva (GVA), and Chicago (ORD).
