British Airways has announced several updates to its in-flight service on routes to and from China and Hong Kong. The changes are intended to make the travel experience more comfortable and culturally authentic for passengers on those routes. Among the new amenities, World Traveler Plus and Club World customers will be offered dark blue slippers, and all passengers will have access to Twinings green tea.
Meals on these flights now come with bilingual menu cards, and diners can choose between chopsticks or Western cutlery when they eat. These small adjustments are part of a broader effort to respond to passenger preferences and enhance comfort during long-haul journeys.
“We understand how important it is for our customers to feel comfortable when flying with us,” said Richard Tams, Executive Vice President for China at British Airways. “Following customer feedback we have added a number of extra touches to our flights to and from China. These include slippers, green tea and chopsticks, which we hope will add value and create a more culturally authentic experience for Chinese customers when they choose to fly with us.”
In January, the airline introduced new menu options on its China and Hong Kong routes. Passengers can now enjoy dishes such as stir-fried Kung Pao chicken or pork, and wonton soup served with bok choy and noodles, reflecting a stronger focus on regional flavors and familiar choices for travelers on these services.
