A bold new boutique hotel has opened in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. The Tess has joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection and Peregrine Hospitality’s Boutique & Lifestyle Collection, introducing a polished, contemporary take on Southern hospitality to the district.
Formerly Thompson Atlanta‑Buckhead, the property has been thoughtfully reimagined. The Tess features 201 guestrooms and suites, including a presidential suite with expansive living areas, sweeping city views and a spa‑inspired bathroom centered on a deep‑soaking tub.

Onsite dining and social spaces include Tesserae, the hotel’s signature restaurant, one of Atlanta’s few rooftop pools and a lively lobby bar. Tesserae focuses on American cuisine with craft cocktails and skyline views. The refreshed menu debuts this month and highlights dishes such as Cabernet Sauvignon‑braised short rib, half chicken Cacciatore and butternut squash and sage risotto.
The rooftop pool offers cabanas and panoramic city vistas, while the lobby bar serves crafted drinks like the crisp Sunset in Georgia and the fruit‑forward Cosmic Crush. The hotel also provides more than 17,000 square feet of flexible event and studio space, including a 4,187‑square‑foot ballroom suitable for weddings, corporate events and private gatherings.

The Tess offers an elevated guest experience through its Experience Curator, a modern take on concierge service that delivers highly personalized recommendations and arrangements. Fitness amenities include a gym with Peloton bikes. A standout feature is The Tess Collection, a curated room of books and vinyl with headphones that also functions as a podcast recording studio available for guests and local creators. Programming in this space ranges from tastings and brand activations to author signings and intimate events.
