American Express to Open Centurion Lounge at Houston Airport in 2026

American Express is expanding The Centurion Lounge network in major U.S. airports with a new location at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The seventh Centurion Lounge, located in Terminal D, will occupy approximately 8,500 square feet and is scheduled to open in the first half of 2016.

Lisa Durocher, senior vice president of charge cards and benefits at American Express, said the company aimed to build a domestic lounge network that delivers an elevated experience for Card Members. “Houston is another major market for our Card Members and an important step toward growing our lounges from coast to coast,” she said.

The Houston Centurion Lounge will offer a range of amenities designed for both work and relaxation. Features include noise-buffering workspaces, private shower suites, dedicated phone areas, a family room, comfortable seating clusters, a computer bar and quiet or “tranquility” areas. Guests will also have access to high-speed WiFi throughout the lounge.

In addition to the physical amenities, the lounge will provide complimentary food and a full bar for eligible Card Members, emphasizing a high-quality, stress-free preflight experience.

The Centurion Lounge program consists of distinctively designed airport lounges that are available to American Express Card Members. Prior to the Houston opening, the network included lounges at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, New York LaGuardia Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Miami International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

With the addition of the Houston location, American Express continues to expand its domestic lounge footprint, focusing on major travel hubs and amenities that address modern travelers’ needs for productivity, comfort and convenience.
