AKA Beverly Hills Hotel & Residences — Luxury Stay in Beverly Hills

Arrival/Check-In: After a long day of navigating winter weather, flight changes and delays, my colleagues and I were relieved to arrive at AKA Beverly Hills. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and a hotel representative escorted me to my third-floor suite. Along the way we passed a terrace, an outdoor lounge reserved for guests. The cool Los Angeles night air felt mild compared with the Northeast cold I had left earlier that day.

Guest Quarters: AKA is an extended-stay property that clearly prioritizes comfort and a home-like atmosphere. Instead of a digital key, room access was by a traditional key, so guests should remember to lock the door when stepping out. The suite felt more like a luxury apartment than a standard hotel room. It featured a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen with a six-burner cooktop, double stacked ovens and a four-person dining table—ideal for longer stays or those who prefer to dine in. The living area centered on a gas fireplace and opened to a private balcony. Contemporary furnishings carried through into the bedroom, which included a spacious walk-in closet with a secure safe. The bathroom was generous in size and offered a separate soaking tub and shower.

Services/Amenities: One distinctive amenity at AKA is a.cinema, a 20-seat screening room that hosts weekly film showings and can be reserved by guests for private viewings. While the hotel does not operate its own full-service restaurant, it provides room service from Spago during business hours. Spago, the flagship restaurant of chef Wolfgang Puck, connects directly to the hotel lobby for convenient access. Although I didn’t dine there this visit, I appreciated other conveniences, including a private hotel car that offers drop-off and pick-up service within a Beverly Hills radius. The location enhances a sense of celebrity status and places guests within easy reach of upscale dining, shopping and luxury car showrooms.

The Experience: The one downside to my stay was how quickly it ended. I would have liked more time to enjoy the film offerings in a.cinema and to sample cuisine from Spago. For anyone planning an extended visit to Los Angeles, AKA Beverly Hills is a choice I would gladly repeat.
