AC Hotel Cuzco Madrid: Modern Stay Near Plaza de Castilla

Arrival/Check-In: I arrived in Madrid early in the morning after a long day of travel. AC Hotel Cuzco is a short drive from Madrid-Barajas International Airport. Even though I got to the hotel hours before the official check-in time, my room was ready. The check-in process was efficient; the front desk attendant directed me to the elevators and I took one up to the 10th floor.

Guest Quarters: Exhausted from travel, I quickly sank into the comfortable bed for a brief nap. The hotel clearly prioritizes comfort— the mattress struck a nice balance between supportive and cozy, reflecting the brand’s attention to bedding quality. AC Hotels’ design sensibility is modern and European, with clean lines and functional furnishings.

The room featured hardwood floors, crisp white linens and contemporary gray accents that created an elegant, uncluttered atmosphere. Furnishings felt purposeful and simple, designed to help guests settle in easily. The bathroom continued the same aesthetic with bright white fixtures set against darker wood tones. The shower offered both a handheld head and a rainfall option, and large, soft towels were provided. An open-closet layout made it easy to organize luggage and get ready without feeling cramped.

Services/Amenities: Dining is one of the highlights at this property. I enjoyed a European-style breakfast in the basement buffet, which offered a selection of Spanish and continental items: sliced cured meats and cheeses, pastries and a well-made tortilla española. The same dining room serves lunch and dinner, though I did not try those services during my stay. I did sample tapas at the lobby-level AC Lounge—freshly sliced jamón ibérico and lightly fried calamari stood out. For convenience, 24-hour room service is available.

Although my visit was brief, the hotel offers a full complement of on-site amenities. There are 12 meeting rooms totaling more than 9,500 square feet, making the property suitable for conferences and events. The fitness center is open 24 hours and includes cardio equipment and weights. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel, which is useful for both business and leisure travelers.

AC Hotel Cuzco is well suited for business trips and short city stays alike, combining modern design with practical amenities and convenient transport links.
