ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: Tucked on a quiet side street and framed by greenery over the entrance, The London West Hollywood greets guests with a discreet, English-inspired facade that hints at the refined comfort inside. A polished marble lobby with warm lighting, curved sofas and attentive staff welcomes visitors. A doorman assisted with my luggage, and elevators to the suites sit toward the rear of the lobby. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the hotel’s layout felt straightforward and easy to navigate for first-time visitors.

GUEST QUARTERS: I spent two nights in the Vista Suite, a thoughtfully arranged space designed to maximize its standout feature: the balcony views. The suite offered a plush king-sized bed, a dressing and vanity area set behind the headboard, a large marble desk, a personal wet bar, a flat-screen TV and an Illy coffee machine. There was also a dining table with chairs and a well-appointed bathroom featuring a separate shower and a deep marble soaking tub—one of the most indulgent tubs I’ve used in a hotel.
While the tub was a welcome luxury, I found myself most drawn to the private balcony overlooking the Hollywood Hills and the Los Angeles skyline. During sunset, the sky filled with soft oranges and pinks above the dark, billboard-studded hills—an especially memorable sight. Even when inside, I kept the floor-to-ceiling windows uncovered to enjoy the views whenever possible.

SERVICES & AMENITIES: The London West Hollywood includes a complimentary breakfast offering at Boxwood Restaurant. I enjoyed a selection of yogurt parfait, fresh pastries, fruit, eggs and coffee. The hotel also serves an extended breakfast and full menu with a range of both indulgent and savory options if you prefer to order à la carte. Other notable hotel features include a rooftop pool—frequently praised by guests—with poolside food and beverage service. The London Bar offers light bites, tacos and craft cocktails, often with a focus on gin-based creations. Although I didn’t have time to sample dinner or all of the hotel amenities during my stay, the property clearly emphasizes relaxed dining and social spaces along with comfortable, well-equipped rooms.
