Skirting the unspoiled coastlines of Scotland’s remote sea lochs and Hebridean islands, St. Hilda Sea Adventures has unveiled its 2025 season of wildlife-focused and specialty cruises. The family-run small-group company will visit traditional island villages, ancient castles, whisky distilleries and the celebrated Isle of Skye, offering intimate voyages that showcase Scotland’s dramatic coastal landscapes and rich natural history.
For 2025, St. Hilda Sea Adventures plans 14 cruises and specialty experiences. Routes range from the seabird-rich St. Kilda archipelago and the dramatic cliffs of the Isle of Canna to the Southern Hebridean islands of Jura, Luing, Shuna and Islay—Islay being renowned as one of the world’s premier malt whisky regions.

Voyage group sizes are deliberately small, typically accommodating between six and 11 guests depending on the vessel, to allow relaxed, personal exploration. Pricing includes all meals, afternoon tea, a pre-dinner aperitif and wine with dinner, plus the expert guidance and hospitality of the onboard crew.
Highlights from the 2025 program include:
Hebridean Cruise: Wildlife & Malt Whisky
This eight-night itinerary focuses on the wildlife and whisky heritage of the Hebrides. Guests will sample famous single malts from Islay and Jura, distilleries still using traditional copper pot stills, and watch for seals and other coastal wildlife from the ship. The voyage also explores the Crinan Canal and surrounding wildlife reserves.
Island Cruising to Treshnish Isles, Staffa, Iona and the Small Isles
Explore historic and naturally spectacular islands, including Iona—an important site in the early history of Western Christianity—and Staffa, famed for Fingal’s Cave, the basalt sea cave that inspired Mendelssohn’s Hebridean Overture. Expect close encounters with seabirds and sheltered anchorages.

St. Kilda and the Shiants
On this 10-night cruise, passengers visit some of the highest sea cliffs in the UK and important breeding sites for seabirds such as puffins and gannets. The itinerary includes a call at Village Bay on St. Kilda, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where dramatic scenery and abundant wildlife make for unforgettable shore visits.
Scotland’s Wild Isles: Isle of Skye and the Small Isles
This eight-night voyage explores Skye’s sea lochs and the Small Isles. Highlights include a visit to the Talisker distillery on Skye, journeys along Loch Scavaig and Loch Spelve, and opportunities to sample locally sourced seafood, such as mussels harvested by local producers during the season.
Beyond scheduled departures, St. Hilda Sea Adventures offers private charters and a variety of specialty cruises tailored to specific interests. Options include naturalist-led wildlife cruises, professionally led photography expeditions, golf-focused island tours and tutor-led art cruises. These experiences are designed to combine comfortable small-ship travel with expert instruction and immersive local encounters.
