Hyatt to Open New Luxury Hotel in Moscow This Year

Hyatt has announced plans to expand its presence in Russia with a new Hyatt Regency hotel set to open in Moscow. Scheduled for a 2017 opening, the Hyatt Regency Moscow Istra Resort will sit on the shores of the Istra Reservoir and offer 168 guestrooms and 52 extended-stay apartments. The resort will include a full-service spa, several dining options, a fitness center, and a conference center featuring a 3,760-square-foot ballroom.

This property will join the Ararat Park Hyatt Moscow, which opened in 2002, and will become the second Hyatt Regency in the city once the Hyatt Regency Moscow Petrovsky Park—currently under development—opens. The expansion supports Hyatt’s broader strategy to strengthen its brand in major gateway cities like Moscow, where visitor numbers continue to grow.

“Establishing our brand’s presence in key gateway cities like Moscow is an integral part of our strategy to drive guest preference for Hyatt-branded hotels in Russia, a market that continues to experience strong growth in visitor numbers,” said Peter Norman, senior vice president of real estate and development for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.

In addition to the Moscow Istra Resort and the Petrovsky Park location, Hyatt has four other projects underway across Russia: Hyatt Regency Rostov-on-Don, Hyatt Regency Sochi, Hyatt Regency Vladivostok Golden Horn, and Hyatt Burny Vladivostok. These developments reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to growing its portfolio in key Russian markets and offering a range of accommodations and meeting facilities for both leisure and business travelers.
