Frontier Revamps Loyalty Program: What Travelers Need to Know

Frontier Airlines has redesigned its frequent-flyer program, now offering travelers a simpler path to Elite status. The program has been renamed from EarlyReturns to FRONTIER Miles and introduces fresh perks, including family mile pooling and other member-focused benefits.

“Frontier’s mission is to make it possible for more people to fly and fly more often,” said Tyri Squyres, vice president of marketing. “The reimagined FRONTIER Miles program makes that even easier. We recognized that earning awards and status with airlines is not easy and we aim to change that with our new program. Specifically designed to offer something for everyone — whether a customer travels a little or a lot — they will find our new program rewarding. We were careful not to eliminate any of our current benefits, our frequent flyers will only find new benefits to enjoy. More importantly, as an airline for families, we built benefits focused not just on the individual but the entire family.”

As part of the relaunch, travelers can try Elite 20k status on a trial basis. By booking and completing two round-trip flights by Oct. 15, members will receive Elite 20k benefits through the end of the year. Trial perks include a complimentary carry-on bag, seat assignment, and the ability to pool miles with family members—designed to make it easier to earn rewards and enjoy priority conveniences.

The update aims to make the loyalty program more accessible and flexible. Family pooling allows relatives to combine miles into a single balance, accelerating reward redemption and helping households reach Elite thresholds faster. The carrier emphasizes that none of the previous advantages were removed; instead, they expanded the program to add new value for both infrequent and frequent travelers.

FRONTIER Miles now positions itself as a program that accommodates varied travel habits, from occasional leisure trips to regular business travel. The trial Elite status provides a low-commitment way to experience premium conveniences, while the renamed program and added family features reflect Frontier’s focus on affordability and family-friendly travel solutions.

Members should review the specific terms and eligibility requirements for the trial Elite 20k status and family pooling to understand how to qualify and how long benefits apply. Those who travel with family members may find the pooling feature particularly useful for reducing the time it takes to reach award flights or status levels.

Overall, the relaunch of FRONTIER Miles highlights Frontier Airlines’ effort to simplify reward earning, enhance member benefits, and create more opportunities for families and individuals to enjoy travel perks without sacrificing the carrier’s low-cost approach.
