InterContinental Hotels Group has announced that its Hotel Indigo brand will make its debut in Italy. The Hotel Indigo Rome-St. George will be situated in Rome’s historic center on Via Giulia and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2014 after the St. George Hotel is converted to IHG’s Hotel Indigo brand.
The boutique property will offer a range of amenities designed for modern travelers while preserving a sense of local character. Planned features include an on-site restaurant, a rooftop terrace, a fitness center, complimentary WiFi and a spa area with a sauna and Turkish bath.
IHG currently operates 10 Hotel Indigo hotels across Europe and has announced intentions to expand the brand with an additional 13 properties over the next three to five years. Earlier this year, IHG opened its first Hotel Indigo in Spain, the 77-room Hotel Indigo Barcelona – Plaza Catalunya.
