Celebrate Hong Kong Culture at Kowloon Shangri‑La Hotel

Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong, the first hotel to open in reclaimed Tsim Sha Tsui East, is highlighting the neighborhood’s cultural heritage and the people who have lived in the district for decades. Tsim Sha Tsui is rich in history, hidden stories and off-the-beaten-path attractions that reveal different layers of Hong Kong life.

Local landmarks include the city’s oldest military facility, the first Catholic church on the Kowloon peninsula, the primary school attended by Bruce Lee, and several buildings recognized for their cultural significance in the region.

To mark the occasion, the hotel is offering a Cultural Heritage package starting from approximately $488 plus 10 percent per room per night. The package includes:

  • Accommodation for two in a spacious, elegantly appointed guestroom
  • Full Horizon Club benefits for two, including daily buffet breakfast, access to Horizon Club lounges and evening happy hour
  • A three- to four-hour guided walking tour of Tsim Sha Tsui, led by knowledgeable local guides
  • A special edition of The Hidden Gems, a commemorative booklet showcasing selected examples of the area’s cultural heritage
  • Complimentary WiFi, broadband internet access and local phone calls
  • A welcome tea and a fresh fruit platter on arrival

The offer is valid through June 30, 2017.

“We are delighted to pioneer this initiative and to create a walking tour as part of our hotel’s 35th anniversary celebrations. This project helps reveal Tsim Sha Tsui’s cultural heritage—details guests and even longtime residents may have missed on earlier visits to Hong Kong—and allows us to collaborate with many members of the local community. Our shared goal is to help visitors and locals alike appreciate the district from a fresh perspective,” said Ulf Bremer, general manager of Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong.
