KLM Flight Policy Update: What Passengers Need to Know

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has completed the refurbishment of its first fully renovated Boeing 777-200 and put the aircraft into service. The updated jet features redesigned cabin interiors in both World Business Class and Economy Class, together with a new in-flight entertainment system, and has entered KLM’s flight rotation.

At the center of the World Business Class upgrade is a fully flat seat tailored for comfort and privacy. The seat’s layout and smart design elements give passengers room to sleep and work without feeling exposed. Warm, inviting color tones and ample storage compartments increase convenience and create a more personal space. Larger, softer cushions and new premium blankets add to the overall comfort and foster a cozy atmosphere on board.

The in-flight entertainment system has also been upgraded. Each World Business Class seat is equipped with a 16-inch screen that can be operated using a touchscreen handset. Passengers also have the option of a dual-screen experience that enables simultaneous activities, such as watching a movie while playing a game or using a chat function. These improvements are intended to enhance the onboard experience for long-haul travelers.

KLM plans to complete the refurbishment across its fleet of 15 Boeing 777-200 aircraft through 2015, with a subsequent rollout to its 777-300 fleet. The phased program aims to provide consistent cabin standards and amenities across the carrier’s long-haul fleet, improving comfort and entertainment options for passengers on a growing number of routes.

By combining a modern flat-bed business seat, thoughtful storage solutions, upgraded soft furnishings and an advanced entertainment package, the renovated 777-200 reflects KLM’s focus on passenger comfort and a cohesive travel experience. Travelers can expect these enhancements to appear on additional aircraft as the retrofit program continues.
