Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Opens New Kosher Kitchen

Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park has opened a fully dedicated on-site kosher kitchen to serve guests planning Jewish weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, and other special events. Operated under the direct supervision of The Chicago Rabbinical Council (CRC), the culinary team at Fairmont Chicago adheres to Orthodox standards. All food is prepared on-site in the CRC-certified kitchen.

“We recognized that adding an on-site kosher kitchen would be a very welcome resource to the Chicagoland Jewish community,” said David Sher, director of food and beverage at Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park. “Our team is proud to offer guests exceptional, thoughtfully prepared kosher cuisine.”

The kosher menu offers a wide selection of canapés, hors d’oeuvres, and seasonal salads. Examples include a cinnamon-spiced pumpkin and carrot salad accented with shaved jicama, candied cranberries, Granny Smith apples, and a date vinaigrette; a red and yellow beet salad with roasted walnuts, sweet pimento, saffron oranges, and anise vinaigrette; and marinated asparagus paired with tomato confit, roasted mushrooms, and a honey mustard vinaigrette.

Entrée options showcase both classic and contemporary preparations. Choices include an herb-crusted sirloin of beef served with horseradish-creamed potatoes, caramelized shallots, and a red wine glaze; sun-dried tomato and olive–marinated Atlantic salmon accompanied by a fingerling sweet pimento potato salad and spinach-thyme vinaigrette; and lemon-pepper–spiced, grain-fed chicken breast with soft olive polenta and an apricot-herb vinaigrette.

Fairmont Chicago’s kosher kitchen is designed to support a range of event sizes and styles, from intimate family gatherings to large-scale celebrations. With full CRC supervision and in-house preparation, the hotel aims to provide those seeking kosher dining the convenience of a luxury venue combined with attentive service and high culinary standards.
