Seattle Inspires Delta’s New Food and Beverage Menu

First-class travelers on Delta Air Lines departing from Seattle can now enjoy freshly crafted in-flight menus that highlight local Pacific Northwest flavors. The new first-class offerings, introduced for select flights out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, feature products from well-known regional vendors, including several purveyors from Pike Place Market.

The initial rollout began last month on flights between Seattle and Los Angeles and San Francisco, with plans to expand the program to other mainline lunch and dinner routes ranging from roughly 1,500 to 9,000 miles. Menus emphasize fresh, local and sustainable ingredients and showcase signature items from Seattle-area producers.

Featured local partners include Pike Place Chowder, The Pike Brewing Company, Uli’s Famous Sausage, Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, Le Panier Bakery and Pappardelle’s Pasta. Sample dishes draw on these partnerships: one example pairs Pappardelle’s lavender fettuccine with wild Alaskan coho salmon from Pike Place Fish Market, finished with Northwest seafood seasoning. Another example highlights Uli’s Famous German bratwurst and smoked bacon sausage served with German potato salad and sauerkraut with sautéed apples.

Each first-class pairing comes with Pike Place Chowder’s clam chowder, Le Panier brioche and a Le Panier chocolate macaron filled with chocolate ganache, providing a cohesive tasting experience that blends savory and sweet Northwest specialties.

“Fresh, local and sustainable are core tenets of Pacific Northwest cuisine and Delta’s onboard food and beverage program, and that’s precisely the philosophy we follow with our new menus,” said Mike Medeiros, vice president — Seattle, Delta Air Lines. “Our region’s most recognized purveyors shine in these thoughtfully crafted menus, giving Delta customers from around the world a taste of Seattle, whether they’re destined for Sea‑Tac or just passing through.”
