Tamron Photo Education Tailgates Return for 2015: Dates & Details

Need a little help sharpening your focus? Tamron is bringing back its popular Tailgate Tour photo-education series. These free mini-seminars give attendees hands-on experience with current Tamron gear and opportunities for portfolio reviews in a friendly, accessible setting.

The Tamron Tailgate Tour welcomes photographers of all skill levels. In collaboration with local camera stores, the Tamron van parks on-site for a four-hour session (noon–4 p.m.) featuring a set of 45-minute seminars such as Achieving Perfect Exposure, Portfolio and Image Review, and Understanding Your Digital Darkroom. Each segment is designed to offer practical tips you can apply immediately.

For those seeking a deeper dive, Tamron also offers a two-hour evening seminar titled The Field Guide to Inspired Photography: See It, Capture It, Work It. Led by experienced members of the Tamron tech team, this workshop explores creative approach, capture techniques, and post-processing strategies. The evening seminar is $25 and includes a welcome bag containing a reporter-style notebook and a lens-cleaning cloth.

Attendees can try out the latest Tamron lenses and accessories on-site, ask questions of knowledgeable staff, and receive feedback on their work. Each Tailgate Tour stop also features a raffle: three winners per tour leg will be eligible to receive any Tamron lens of their choice, with one winner selected at the end of each stop.

The Tailgate Tour is a convenient way to learn, test new gear, and connect with other photographers in your community. Whether you’re refining exposure control, preparing a portfolio, or learning new post-processing techniques, the mini-seminars and hands-on demos offer practical guidance and inspiration.

If you’re interested in attending, look for local Tailgate Tour dates hosted with nearby camera shops. These events are intended to be inclusive and educational, making them a useful resource for hobbyists and professionals alike.

Bring your camera, prepare some images for review, and take advantage of the chance to try current Tamron equipment while gaining feedback and new ideas from experienced photographers. The Tailgate Tour blends instruction, demonstration, and community engagement to help you improve your photography skills.
