Fiesta Americana Grand Chapultepec Mexico City Hotel Review & Guide

Arrival/Check-in: After a four-hour fog delay on an overnight flight, I arrived at the Fiesta Americana Grand Chapultepec tired and a little disheveled. The taxi stopped at the curb and a bellman was already holding my luggage, ready to help. The lobby is compact, but the front-desk staff are efficient and the check-in process was smooth. The bellman escorted me to my room and took the time to explain the amenities and features to ensure a comfortable stay. (30/30)

Guest Quarters: I stayed in one of the hotel’s signature corner suites. A floor-to-ceiling bay window offered a striking view of Chapultepec Castle. The suite felt spacious and inviting, with marble surfaces and warm wood accents. The large sitting area included ample media options and a quirky, welcome touch: a stationary bicycle for guests who like to exercise in-room. The full kitchen included a microwave, refrigerator, stovetop and dishes. The bed was comfortable with a cozy duvet, and the in-room safe featured a power outlet to charge phones and cameras while secured.

During my stay the air conditioning in the sitting area was not working on arrival, but maintenance repaired it promptly without my needing to request service—housekeeping had already reported the issue. The bathroom was well equipped: the toiletries were Gilchrist & Soames in generous-sized bottles, and I found shaving amenities provided as well. The powerful shower was excellent, though a bathrobe was missing. While the televisions could use an upgrade to flat screens, the room’s view and city ambiance make television a secondary consideration. One minor drawback: despite being on a higher floor, some street noise was noticeable, which may bother light sleepers. (27/30)

Services/Amenities: Before a much-needed nap, I ordered room service for lunch. Service arrived promptly and with a friendly attitude; the portions were generous and the food tasty, though it could have been hotter. The hotel’s restaurant and bar are well suited for evening drinks or a full meal.

The spa is compact but well appointed, offering saunas, steam rooms, a Jacuzzi, a refreshment bar and a comprehensive treatment menu. I enjoyed a deep-tissue massage and found the spa staff attentive and accommodating. (38/40)

The Experience: The Fiesta Americana Grand Chapultepec benefits from an excellent location. It is convenient for business travelers, positioned centrally in the city, and ideal for leisure visitors thanks to Chapultepec Park directly across the street, with its museums and the castle. In a busy city with heavy traffic, the park provides a welcome oasis of culture and green space.
