Visit London has joined forces with the GREAT Britain campaign to hold an international search for London’s Official Guest of Honor.
Anglophiles worldwide are invited to enter by submitting either a short film or a 75-word essay explaining why they would make the perfect Official Guest of Honor for London.
The selected winner will be flown to London in February 2015 and treated to a range of exclusive experiences, including:
- Opening Tower Bridge
- Attending a West End musical alongside singing star Jessie J
- Enjoying afternoon tea with actor Jim Carter (known for his role as Carson on Downton Abbey)
- Taking a behind-the-scenes tour of Parliament
- Dining on a menu prepared by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton
- Firing the guns aboard HMS Belfast
- Receiving a VIP tour of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, home of the Wimbledon Championships
- Opportunity to appear as an extra in a West End production
- An all-access pass to shopping on Oxford Street
- A two-week holiday in London, professionally filmed to document the experience
“This is an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the world’s greatest cities in a truly unforgettable way,” said London Mayor Boris Johnson. “I know the winner will take home memories that are unique and lasting. Post a film or submit an essay and give yourself a chance to win an experience like no other.”
