Zuma Maldives, the resort’s contemporary Japanese restaurant, will highlight the craft of sake with a program hosted by a Sake Samurai from the Japan Sake Brewers Association from Oct. 1–7. During the week, guests can enjoy a variety of tasting formats: a night brunch featuring sake flights on Oct. 1, a seated dinner paired with selected sakes on Oct. 4, and an interactive tasting experience on Oct. 7. Among the offerings is the ultra-rare Zuma ONE 1%, a sake with only nine bottles produced worldwide.
Chef and restaurateur Dave Pynt returns to the island from Oct. 13–19 to present a dedicated series at The Ledge, the resort’s acclaimed barbecue concept he originated in 2019. Highlights include a multicourse tasting dinner on Oct. 15 that showcases Pynt’s signature flame-driven techniques and coastal ingredients. The Ledge will also partner with Dom Pérignon for a special wood-fired beach dinner on Oct. 18, marrying Champagne with open-fire cooking for a memorable seaside celebration.

“Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi has always been more than a destination; it is a canvas for exceptional experiences,” said T.J. Joulak, general manager of Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi. “This October, our guests will have the rare privilege of engaging directly with visionaries such as Chef Pynt and a Sake Samurai, whose artistry transforms dining into cultural discovery. Together, they will create moments that are as unforgettable as our island itself.”
These events form part of the resort’s ongoing commitment to thoughtful, immersive dining that blends culinary innovation with local surroundings. Guests interested in attending are encouraged to book early, as seats for these limited engagements are expected to fill quickly. Whether sampling rare sakes, enjoying fire-kissed cuisine on the beach, or taking part in a curated tasting menu, visitors can expect elevated service, carefully paired beverages, and menus crafted to celebrate both technique and terroir.
Beyond these headline experiences, the resort continues to offer its full range of dining options, private dining experiences, and bespoke culinary services, allowing guests to tailor their gastronomic journey. October’s program underscores Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi’s position as a leading destination for food and drink, where international talent and local inspiration converge to create lasting memories.
