Turkish Airlines Chooses Panasonic for New In-Flight Entertainment System

Panasonic has developed a new onboard entertainment system that will bring a home-theater experience to Turkish Airlines passengers, featuring high-definition screens and enhanced audio technology.

The system includes Panasonic’s Passenger Data service, enabling greater personalization by analyzing prior travel preferences to recommend content, services and amenities. This personalization aims to improve the in-flight experience and support passengers as they reach their destinations.

Passengers will benefit from high-speed global Wi-Fi and multiple live television channels. The live TV lineup, offered specifically for Turkish Airlines, will include TRT World Turkish News alongside eight additional channels, including Sport 24.

A companion mobile app will let passengers pair their devices with the aircraft entertainment system. Using the app, travelers can customize their experience by building playlists, queuing movies and browsing destination guides.

İlker Aycı, chairman of the board and executive committee of Turkish Airlines, said the airline sought a solution that would provide both reliability and a truly immersive in-flight experience. He noted that the personalized interface, optimized for viewing and supported by a large library of games, audio and video, made Panasonic’s eX1 system a fitting choice for the carrier.

The new entertainment system will be installed across Turkish Airlines’ fleet on 92 Airbus A321s, 65 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and 10 Boeing 737 MAX 9s.
