LAX Tom Bradley Terminal Reopens September 18 — What to Know

A grand-opening celebration marks the debut of the new Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport, which opens on Sept. 18.

This elevated terminal is the centerpiece of phase one of a $4.1 billion capital improvement program—the largest public works undertaking in Los Angeles history. The facility showcases more than 60 upscale dining and luxury retail outlets and features one of the most advanced integrated multimedia environmental systems installed at any North American airport.

LAWA also completed a $737 million renovation of the Tom Bradley International Terminal that added an in-line baggage screening system and a series of interior upgrades designed to improve service and convenience for passengers and tenants. The renovation followed LAWA’s sustainable design and construction guidelines, resulting in a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly facility.

The new terminal combines modern passenger amenities with enhanced operational systems to support international travel, while providing a refined retail and dining environment. Travelers can expect streamlined security processing, improved passenger flows, and a broader range of food and shopping choices tailored to global travelers.

By integrating advanced environmental systems and sustainable construction practices, the project reduces energy consumption and operational impact, aligning airport infrastructure with contemporary environmental standards. The terminal’s design balances functionality with a premium passenger experience, supporting Los Angeles’ role as a major international gateway.

The Tom Bradley International Terminal renovation and expansion demonstrate a long-term commitment to improving airport infrastructure, passenger comfort, and retail offerings. These improvements aim to make international travel through LAX more efficient, comfortable, and commercially vibrant.
