Suspended above the city, Perch occupies the top two floors of the historic Pershing Square Building in Los Angeles, offering far more than a lofty address. Under executive chef Gerardo Benitez, the kitchen serves French bistro-inspired dishes that highlight Southern California’s abundant seasonal produce, elevating both the restaurant and its cocktail lounge into a refined dining destination. Menus rotate with market availability, but you might find a Fromage and Charcuterie Plate; seared scallops with sunchoke–parsnip purée and a bright pea salad; Loup de Mer accompanied by Israeli couscous caviar, white asparagus, spring onions and garlic nage; and a standout Brussels sprouts dish finished with bacon, Parmesan and sherry vinaigrette.
The rooftop bar on the 16th floor, directly above the dining room, is ideal for pre-dinner drinks, a post-dessert nightcap or a dedicated evening out. The cocktail list features inventive options such as the Saint Cloud—Templeton rye with lemon and basil—and the Writers Block, made with Grey Goose La Poire vodka, St. Germain, lemon and sparkling wine. If you prefer beer or wine, the bar offers craft beers, more than 25 wines by the glass and a selection of rare Cognacs and French cordials.
The rooftop’s design uses multiple fire features to create intimate nooks as well as expansive, tiled terraces with sweeping views. Live music, DJ-curated soundtracks and vintage artwork contribute to a lively but sophisticated atmosphere. Perch is located at 448 South Hill Street and also offers additional event spaces on site. Note that after 9 p.m. entry is restricted to guests aged 21 and over.
