The Bohoho, a stylish boutique property in Camps Bay, South Africa, sits about 4.5 miles south of Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront—one of the city’s most visited districts for dining, public art, hotels, the ferry to Robben Island and the acclaimed Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.

Following the scenic M62 coastal drive from Cape Town to Camps Bay, staying at The Bohoho—also known as the Palm Springs house—offers an elevated experience. The three-bedroom home “channels the sun-drenched style of a 60s summer in Palm Springs and brings it to our time in a cocktail of punchy pop-art touches and sweeping ocean and mountain views,” says owner and interior designer Daniela Gottschalk. For guests, The Bohoho is presented as an immersive retreat that celebrates creativity, freedom and a shared sense of glamour.

Opened to travelers in late 2024, the property has a private alleyway entrance and interiors that showcase artwork in vivid cerulean blues and lime greens, bold black-and-white graphics, mailbox red accents and metallic highlights. The design blends mid-century Palm Springs references with modern pop-art details to create an uplifting, visually rich environment.
Outdoors, playful touches include Jonathan Adler–inspired red lips on the curved pool, set against luxurious blue and black marble tiles and shaded by yellow-and-white striped umbrellas. The poolside makes an ideal spot for long afternoons sipping a Cape Brewing beer or a chilled South African white you might pick up on a 45-minute drive to Stellenbosch, one of the country’s premier wine regions.

The Bohoho accommodates six to eight guests with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. A fully equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing meals with ingredients from nearby food markets, though a range of excellent restaurants with ocean views lie just a five- to seven-minute drive away, including Mantra Café, Paranga and Zenzero. The house also provides a flat-screen TV with streaming services for relaxed evenings. Camps Bay Beach is approximately 1 mile from the property, while Beta Beach is about 1.3 miles away.
Beyond its visual appeal, The Bohoho positions itself as a creative sanctuary for modern explorers—digital storytellers, artists, writers and anyone seeking an inspiring place to work and unwind. The house is designed to spark creativity, encourage engagement and provide a memorable backdrop for collaboration, reflection and shared moments.
