Badrutt’s Palace Announces Summer Music Festival in St. Moritz

Celebrating 120 years of welcoming guests to St. Moritz, the legendary Badrutt’s Palace Hotel embraces summer in the Swiss Alps with its third annual Musikfestival (Aug. 28–29). This year, conductor Lukas Reinitzer will lead the Sinfonia Amadei Orchestra in a program of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed on authentic historic instruments. The orchestra’s program will feature selections including Symphony No. 27 in G major and the Flute Concerto in D major, with soloists Ildiko Kertész on flute, Mechthild Karkow on violin and Lucile Chionchini on viola. Each concert will run approximately 1.5 hours.

Guests attending the festival can enjoy the full Badrutt’s Palace experience before or after the concerts. The landmark hotel offers 157 guestrooms and 37 suites, many with views of the surrounding alpine peaks, providing an elegant retreat after an evening of music. Dining at the hotel is led by executive chef Michel Jost, a native of Geneva whose culinary career includes leadership roles in South Africa, Israel, Spain, Greece and the UAE. His menu highlights refined, seasonal cuisine such as roast Bresse pigeon with foie gras, truffle and a winter garnish of chestnuts with red wine sauce; clear oxtail soup with truffles, vegetable pearls and sherry; and Norway lobster risotto with artichokes.

The Musikfestival at Badrutt’s Palace offers a chance to hear classical music in an intimate, historic setting while enjoying world-class hospitality in the heart of the Alps. Whether attending the concert alone or combining it with an alpine getaway, visitors will find a blend of musical authenticity, culinary excellence and luxurious accommodations that reflects the hotel’s long-standing reputation in St. Moritz.
