Aman to Open New York Hotel in 2020: What to Expect

Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue will welcome a new luxury address in 2020. Aman New York will open in the architecturally significant Crown Building at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, bringing refined hospitality to one of the city’s most prestigious corners.

Overlooking Central Park, Aman New York will feature 83 guestrooms and suites alongside permanent Aman Residences comprised of 20 private suites. Among the residences will be a dramatic five-story penthouse crowning the building. Guestrooms are designed to be generous in scale — starting at roughly 750 square feet — and each will include a working fireplace to enhance the sense of comfort and warmth.

The property will include a three-story, 22,000-square-foot Aman Spa designed to offer a restorative urban retreat. Facilities will include an 80-foot swimming pool, day beds and fire pits, creating a calm, resort-like atmosphere within the city. An outdoor wrap-around garden terrace on the 10th floor will provide park views and an al fresco setting for relaxation.

Dining and social venues are planned throughout the hotel to foster community among guests and residents. Highlights will include a Cigar Bar, a Piano Bar in the Sky Lobby, and a Jazz Club located in the basement. Culinary options will feature two distinct restaurants: Nama, a Japanese dining concept, and a Wine Library offering an intimate tasting environment.

Constructed in the 1920s, the Crown Building carries a rich architectural heritage. Once the original home of the Museum of Modern Art, the building displays design influences from the Gilded Age and reflects Neo-Classical Beaux-Arts detailing, making it a fitting setting for a luxury hotel that blends historic character with contemporary amenities.

Aman New York will be the third Aman property in the United States, expanding the brand’s presence with a flagship address that emphasizes spacious accommodations, tranquil spa facilities and thoughtfully curated social spaces in the heart of Manhattan.
