Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern Reopens: Luxury Hotel Returns to Lakefront Splendor

Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern has reopened after an extensive renovation led by local firm Iwan Bühler Architekten and London-based interior designers Jestico + Whiles. This Belle Époque landmark in Lucerne now offers refreshed interiors and sweeping views of the Swiss Alps.

“Nearly three years after announcing Mandarin Oriental’s arrival in Lucerne, we are getting ready to welcome our first guests to this historic, local monument that has now been transformed,” said Christian Wildhaber, the hotel’s general manager. “The Palace has been part of the local community since 1906, and we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors alike back to their home on the lake. My team and I are eager to deliver Mandarin Oriental’s signature service to locals and international guests.”

The redesign draws on the Swiss landscape and a Mediterranean color palette to create a calm, elegant atmosphere across 136 guestrooms, including 48 spacious suites. Many rooms include private balconies or terraces, and all accommodations are equipped with amenities from Diptyque, Dyson and Bose.

Dining at the Palace is led by Michelin-starred Executive Chef Gilad Peled and includes four restaurants and bars. MOzern Bar & Brasserie operates throughout the day with Asian-inspired dishes, afternoon tea and more. Quai 10 offers lakeside, al fresco dining with views over Lake Lucerne. Colonnade presents French haute cuisine in a refined setting, while Minamo provides an intimate Japanese dining experience with seating for six.

The hotel also features four newly renovated meeting and event spaces and SPA Bellefontaine, which includes a modern fitness center and wellness facilities, rounding out the Palace’s offerings for both leisure and business travelers.
