The Hard Rock Hotel Davos will open this winter in the Swiss Alps, following a partnership between Hard Rock International and Hospitality Service AG. The new hotel is housed in the recently renovated Spenglers Hotel Davos, a building with more than 130 years of history.
Hard Rock’s redesign pays tribute to both the building and the region by incorporating features that honor two key local figures: Dr. Alexander Spengler and Willem Jan Holsboer. Dr. Spengler established one of the area’s first sanatoriums when Davos gained recognition for its healthful climate, while Holsboer played a pivotal role in improving access to the town through railway development.
“As Hard Rock continues to grow globally, the brand targets expansion in influential cities and resort destinations around the world, especially in Europe. Famed for its pristine climate, cultural offerings and vibrant entertainment scene, Davos is a distinguished destination that draws in tourists from all over. We feel Davos aligns perfectly with the brand and are thrilled to bring the Hard Rock Hotels experience to the region,” said Dale Hipsh, senior vice president of hotels for Hard Rock International.
Located a convenient journey from Zurich, Davos is the highest city in Europe and the annual host of the World Economic Forum. The property sits within easy reach of shopping, restaurants and local attractions, including the train station, ski lifts, museums, a convention center and a golf club.
Hard Rock Hotel Davos will open in December with 111 redesigned guestrooms and 31 serviced apartments ranging from one- to three-bedroom layouts. The hotel includes three conference rooms and a historic chapel available for events, complete with a functioning pipe organ. Practical amenities for outdoor enthusiasts include a dedicated ski room for storing equipment. Dining and social spaces feature a three-meal restaurant on the terrace, plus three bars: an upscale lobby bar, a private bar for tastings and events, and a rooftop bar that will offer the only 360-degree views in Davos.
Guests will also have access to Hard Rock signature experiences from day one, such as The Sound of Your Stay music amenity program and a Rock Spa, blending the brand’s lifestyle elements with the alpine setting.
