Singapore Airlines Launches Program to Support Autism Awareness

Singapore Airlines has joined forces with the Autism Resource Centre and SG Enable as part of SG Enable’s I’mable campaign, an initiative designed to create a marketplace for carefully curated goods made by people with disabilities. The goal is to expand employment opportunities and provide steady income for artists and craftsmen with special needs.

The first result of this collaboration is a series of in-flight snack boxes that showcase artists’ designs and will be offered on flights next month. The initial economy-class snack box features artwork by ADP artist Aaron Yap, who illustrates beloved local treats such as satay, claypot rice and kueh lapis. The box design also highlights messages that promote inclusiveness and awareness.

In a subsequent phase, the airline intends to introduce KrisShop Cares on KrisShop.com, where a broader selection of products and artworks will be available for purchase. Net proceeds from these sales will benefit the campaign’s partner organisations, and selected items will receive prominent display in Singapore Airlines lounges.

“Singapore Airlines recognizes the importance of giving back to the communities that we serve. We believe that this partnership with SG Enable and ARC will be a wonderful platform for persons with disabilities to showcase their talent to the global audience that we carry and to build awareness of their creative potential,” said Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president, customer experience, Singapore Airlines.

Denise Phua, president of the Autism Resource Centre and mayor of the Central Singapore District, also welcomed the initiative: “What a great way to fly our national flag! We are delighted that our differently-abled artists can have this global platform to showcase their abilities. I am grateful to SG Enable and SIA for believing in the cause of supporting inclusion and celebrating the abilities of persons with special needs.”

This partnership is intended to do more than showcase artwork; it aims to create sustainable income streams, increase public exposure for talented individuals with disabilities, and foster greater inclusion across commercial and community spaces. By integrating these products into inflight services and retail offerings, Singapore Airlines and its partners seek to normalize and celebrate the creative contributions of people with special needs.

Passengers can look forward to seeing artist-designed snack boxes on upcoming flights and, in time, a curated selection available online through KrisShop Cares. The campaign underscores a commitment to inclusive employment and raises awareness about how purposeful design and retail can help build meaningful opportunities for underserved creators.
