United Airlines Expands Spring Break Routes to Dozens of New Destinations

United Airlines is adding nearly 150 additional flights between its hubs and sought-after spring break destinations, covering Arizona, Florida, Hawai’i, Mexico, the Caribbean and select ski locations.

The expanded schedule launches for spring 2019 and includes a broad mix of leisure routes: 31 new flights to Caribbean destinations, serving 12 different islands; 28 additional flights to seven cities in Mexico; and 27 flights to seven destinations across Central America. Within that Central American expansion, United is increasing service with 16 flights to Costa Rica, three flights to Guatemala and three flights to Belize.

Ankit Gupta, vice president at United Airlines, said the carrier wants travelers to know it can connect them to a wide variety of spring break options. With the expanded spring schedule, United is offering more flights and more destinations to help customers plan their getaways.

The airline will also extend its seasonal nonstop service between Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Brownsville / South Padre Island (BRO) through the end of the spring travel season in April.

Additional capacity boosts include seven more flights to Phoenix (PHX) and Tucson (TUS), 15 added flights to 10 cities across Florida, and eight additional flights to four Hawaiian islands. United is also increasing service to ski destinations in Colorado by adding 10 flights to popular mountain gateways such as Vail (EGE), Crested Butte (GUC), Steamboat Springs (SBS) and Telluride (TEX).

These schedule enhancements are aimed at providing more nonstop options, greater frequency and expanded connectivity for leisure travelers planning spring break trips, whether they prefer beach islands, tropical escapes or mountain resorts.
