Air France will begin scheduled flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Nairobi (NBO) next year, adding to sister carrier KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ existing Amsterdam–Nairobi service.
The new service is set to start on March 25, 2018, operating three times weekly from Paris on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight AF814 will depart Paris at 8:50 p.m. and arrive in Nairobi at 6:00 a.m. the following day. The return flights will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, departing Nairobi at 8:20 a.m. and arriving in Paris at 3:50 p.m.
A Boeing 787 Dreamliner will serve the route, configured with 30 business-class seats, 21 premium economy seats and 225 economy seats. The operation will include a codeshare with SkyTeam partner Kenya Airways, complementing Kenya Airways’ existing seven weekly frequencies on the same route.
The partnership and schedule provide onward connectivity to many destinations across East, Central and Southern Africa. Through codeshares and feeder services passengers will be able to reach locations including Kisumu (KIS) and Mombasa (MBA) in Kenya; Entebbe (EBB) in Uganda; Bujumbura (BJM) in Burundi; several destinations in Zambia such as Lusaka (LUN), Ndola (NLA), Livingstone (LVI) and Victoria Falls (VFA); Khartoum (KRT) in Sudan; Dzaoudzi (DZA) in Mayotte; Moroni (HAH) in the Comoros; Lilongwe (LLW) in Malawi; Dar es Salaam (DAR), Kilimanjaro (JRO) and Zanzibar (ZNZ) in Tanzania; Kigali (KGL) in Rwanda; Addis Ababa (ADD) in Ethiopia; Maputo (MPM) and Nampula (APL) in Mozambique; Harare (HRE) in Zimbabwe; Lubumbashi (FBM) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo; Djibouti (JIB); and the Seychelles (SEZ).
By adding the Paris–Nairobi link, Air France expands its African network and offers improved connections for travelers between France and multiple destinations across the continent, leveraging the Dreamliner’s range and comfort along with Kenya Airways’ regional reach.
