Airberlin and JetBlue Announce New Codeshare Partnership

Airberlin and JetBlue have signed a cooperation agreement to offer passengers arriving from Germany more seamless connections throughout the United States.

Under the deal, travelers can book transatlantic flights with airberlin and continue on to a wide range of U.S. destinations on JetBlue-operated services. The partnership enables connections at four major U.S. gateways: New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Orlando (MCO).

From New York, connecting JetBlue flights included in the agreement serve: Bermuda (BDA); Bridgetown (BGI); Boston (BOS); Buffalo (BUF); Charleston (CHS); Fort Lauderdale (FLL); Los Angeles (LAX); Orlando (MCO); West Palm Beach (PBI); Portland (PDX); Rochester (ROC); Fort Myers (RSW); Santo Domingo (SDQ); San Francisco (SFO); San Juan (SJU); Santiago (SCL); Syracuse (SYR); Jacksonville (JAX); Raleigh/Durham (RDU); and Tampa (TPA).

From Boston, available connections include Atlanta (ATL); Buffalo (BUF); Baltimore (BWI); Washington, D.C. (DCA); Denver (DEN); Newark (EWR); Fort Lauderdale (FLL); New York (JFK, LGA); Los Angeles (LAX); Orlando (MCO); Philadelphia (PHL); Raleigh/Durham (RDU); and San Francisco (SFO).

From Orlando, the agreement covers connecting flights to Boston (BOS), Washington, D.C. (DCA), Newark (EWR), White Plains (HPN) and New York (JFK, LGA).

“We are delighted that we have a new, strong partner at our side with JetBlue in the important growth market in the USA. This is only the beginning of our co-operation,” said Goetz Ahmelmann, chief commercial officer of airberlin. “Together, we are working to extend our partnership in the coming months.”

Airberlin currently operates twice-daily service to New York from Dusseldorf (DUS) and a daily flight from Berlin (TXL). The carriers plan to broaden their cooperation over time, with future enhancements likely to include integration of frequent-flyer benefits so members of airberlin’s Topbonus program can earn miles on JetBlue flights.

This arrangement gives travelers arriving on airberlin more destination choices across the U.S. while streamlining connections through major hub airports, improving convenience for both leisure and business passengers.
