Passengers traveling through Warsaw Chopin Airport on LOT Polish Airlines can expect a more personalized travel experience thanks to a new onboard and airport initiative.
LOT recently launched “LOT Moments,” a program that lets friends, family or colleagues surprise boarding passengers with themed gifts. These packages can celebrate birthdays or anniversaries, convey a simple “I love you,” or include playful items for children, adding a warm, personal touch to departures from Warsaw.
The gift service is available to passengers boarding international LOT flights at the airline’s main hub and is part of a wider push to enhance customer experience across LOT’s operations. The carrier has been steadily improving its offerings and operational performance.
Last fall, LOT reported it had exceeded its year-over-year financial targets after carrying out a restructuring plan approved by the European Commission. The airline moved into profitability and surpassed its cumulative break-even point, a notable turnaround after earlier challenges.
“Our improved effectiveness is marked in all aspects of our operations. Reaching the break-even point is the exclusive success of the company’s activities,” said Sebastian Mikosz, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines. He emphasized that this progress was driven by internal improvements rather than one-off external factors like fuel prices or exchange rates.

At Warsaw Chopin Airport, LOT’s priority passengers receive dedicated attention starting at the LOT Priority Check-In Area, where concierges provide assistance in a quiet, comfortable setting.
For pre-flight comfort, the LOT Business Lounge Polonez—the largest lounge at Warsaw Chopin Airport—features a variety of hot and cold dishes, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, domestic and international newspapers and magazines, complimentary WiFi, and shower facilities.
Additionally, the LOT Elite Lounge serves business-class travelers on long-haul Dreamliner routes and Star Alliance Gold cardholders. The Elite Lounge offers an expanded selection of hot dishes, a broader assortment of snacks and drinks, and a dedicated relaxation area designed for longer layovers.
Looking ahead, LOT Polish Airlines plans further service enhancements that will coincide with the ongoing modernization of Warsaw Chopin Airport.
In February, the airport announced financing to modernize its existing terminal, improve road access and add a 5-star hotel. These upgrades are intended to meet rising demand: Warsaw Chopin Airport handled 10.5 million passengers in 2014 and expected to see that figure grow by about a million in 2015. After completion, the improvements will raise the airport’s maximum annual capacity to 22 million passengers.
“To maintain the highest standards of service for both passengers and airlines despite growing traffic, we want to invest proactively in infrastructure development,” said Michał Kaczmarzyk, director of Warsaw Chopin Airport.
