Luxury Cork Hotel Reopens After Major Renovation Boost

The River Lee, Cork has completed a series of refurbishments this season, unveiling refreshed public spaces and announcing further updates to guest rooms and the lobby. The relaunch began with the opening of three new venues: the River Club bar and restaurant, the Mirror Room and The Cocktail Bar.

The River Club features a striking double-height ceiling with reclaimed wooden beams sourced from an old whiskey distillery, a polished mahogany bar, an Art Deco chandelier and expansive windows that frame views of the river. Adjacent, the River Club Terrace brings a relaxed, planted setting with tropical ferns and outdoor heaters and throws to keep guests comfortable when the weather is cool.

The Mirror Room has been designed for events and group dining, with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the River Weir. Interior details include mirrored wall panels, Italian tapestries, mid-century German chandeliers and marble-topped dining tables, creating an elegant setting for private functions and social gatherings.

The Cocktail Bar evokes a mid-20th-century spirit, centered on a warm mahogany counter and a calm, intimate atmosphere ideal for sampling Cork’s local whiskeys and crafted cocktails. Together these new spaces balance contemporary comfort with period-inspired design elements, while the hotel prepares to roll out a redesigned lobby and updated accommodations across its 182 guestrooms.
