Union Square Alliance Expands Options for Meeting Planners

Groups seeking an iconic and convenient San Francisco convention experience now have more flexibility and choices with the launch of Union Square Alliance, a partnership between Grand Hyatt San Francisco and The Westin St. Francis.

This collaboration enables meeting planners to distribute meeting space and guest rooms across the two properties, which are located just one block apart and both border San Francisco’s famed Union Square. Attendees can enjoy striking views from the Grand Hyatt’s 36th-floor meeting rooms and The Westin St. Francis’s 32nd-floor event spaces.

Combined, the two hotels offer extensive capacity to support conferences, corporate retreats and special events. The alliance provides 86,000 square feet of meeting and event space with the flexibility to configure breakout rooms, ballrooms and boardrooms to suit a wide variety of agendas and group sizes. In total, planners can access approximately 1,000 guestrooms available during weekdays and 1,250 guestrooms on weekends, making it simple to accommodate both small and large groups with convenient, nearby lodging.

Beyond indoor meeting space, the partnership leverages the hotels’ immediate access to Union Square’s vibrant plaza. That outdoor venue is well suited for private, tented gatherings and can host up to 1,000 guests, giving planners the option to mix indoor sessions with memorable outdoor receptions, product demonstrations or general sessions that take advantage of the city skyline and lively public setting.

For event organizers, the Union Square Alliance simplifies logistics by offering a coordinated approach to scheduling, AV support and on-site services across two complementary properties. Both hotels maintain experienced event teams familiar with corporate and association needs, and the close proximity allows easy transitions between sessions or simultaneous programming at multiple venues.

Attendees benefit from the central location as well: Union Square is a hub for shopping, dining and cultural attractions, with convenient transit connections to San Francisco’s major business districts and entertainment options. Meeting participants can move between sessions and leisure activities with minimal travel time, enhancing the overall event experience.

By combining historic hotel settings with modern meeting amenities and a prime Union Square location, the Union Square Alliance gives planners a unique, flexible option for hosting conferences, trade shows and special events in downtown San Francisco. The partnership aims to deliver seamless coordination, varied venue choices and the conveniences expected by today’s event attendees.
