Alongside its no-added-fees model, advanced technology, and a modern electric house car, Virgin Hotels Chicago now offers a distinctive in-room amenity: the first-ever pour-over service created specifically for the hotel by local favorite Bow Truss Coffee Roasters.
Drawing inspiration from European in-room coffee traditions, Virgin Hotels partnered with the Chicago-based roastery to give guests a premium, freshly brewed cup of coffee in the privacy of their room. The pour-over ritual, demonstrated online, uses a specially selected kettle and five simple steps that can be completed in just a few minutes.
“Part of the Virgin Hotels proposition is to incorporate the local landscape where possible; partnering with beloved brands within the community, and when we were introduced to Bow Truss, it felt like the perfect match,” said Marlene Leslie, vice president of food and beverage at Virgin Hotels. “Bow Truss roasts on demand, so we knew we were getting the best product, and they were willing to collaborate on an unexpected yet stylish in-room offering.”
Guests can also enjoy Bow Truss Coffee across Virgin Hotels Chicago’s dining outlets, including Two Zero Three, the corner coffee shop; Miss Ricky’s, the classic American diner; and The Commons Club, the hotel’s social hub. Bow Truss and Virgin Hotels are currently developing a single-source signature blend scheduled to debut this spring.
“It was a tremendous opportunity for us to work with Virgin Hotels to create a unique yet sophisticated pour-over coffee service for the guest chambers,” said Philip Tadros, founder and CEO of Bow Truss. “We’re now sourcing a signature blend for the brand that will be served in their restaurants and guestrooms, so both hotel guests and locals can enjoy it.”
