Alaska Airlines and EL AL Launch Strategic Partnership for U.S.-Israel Flights

EL AL Israel Airlines and Alaska Airlines have expanded their partnership, extending a recent codeshare agreement with a broader frequent-flyer arrangement.

The enhanced collaboration allows passengers traveling between North America and Israel to connect on either carrier in both directions, with loyalty-program members able to choose which airline’s miles to earn for eligible flights.

EL AL currently operates a three-times-weekly service between Tel Aviv (TLV) and San Francisco (SFO) using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner configured with economy, premium and business classes. Flights depart Tel Aviv on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:05 a.m., arriving in San Francisco the same day at 6:00 a.m., with an approximate flight time of 15 hours. Return services from San Francisco to Tel Aviv operate on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday with evening departures.

“This is truly a historic day for EL AL,” said Gonen Usishkin, CEO of EL AL. “Beyond linking the two major technology hubs with our new thrice-weekly flights, we are offering expanded choices for customers through the codeshare and frequent-flyer agreements with Alaska Airlines. Alaska played an important role in bringing people to Israel in the country’s early years and helped build our nation. As we mark 70 years since those landmark flights, Alaska remains a key partner alongside EL AL in strengthening ties between America and Israel.”
