The snow has melted, the sun is shining, and outdoor enthusiasts are gearing up for summer camping. Historic Arapaho Valley Ranch in Granby, Colorado, is an excellent destination. The ranch carries a rich history connected to aviator Charles Lindbergh, who became a close friend of former owner and pilot Harry Knight. While serving as president of the St. Louis Flying Club, Knight developed a personal relationship with Lindbergh and built a private airfield at the ranch, which Lindbergh used for weekend visits to Colorado.

Today, Arapaho Valley Ranch focuses on a mountain-centered glamping experience with a variety of lodging options. Guests can choose from 19 canvas glamping tents set on raised wooden platforms, each featuring a private deck and a firepit. Tent configurations vary, offering one or two queen beds and a futon, providing comfortable sleeping arrangements for couples and small families. In addition to the tents, the ranch offers three canvas tipis on raised decks; each tipi is furnished with a queen bed, two cots and bedding.

New for the season, the ranch has added two yurts designed for adventure travelers who want more amenities. Each yurt includes two queen beds and a full-sized futon. The yurts come with a kitchen stocked for basic meal preparation: dinnerware, silverware, mugs, utensils, a frying pan, a camp stove and a grill. Additional supplies include a cooler, a kettle and a French press, making it easy to enjoy morning coffee and home-cooked meals while surrounded by mountain scenery.

“With plenty of room to spread out, families and groups of friends can enjoy a classic Colorado camping experience without sacrificing creature comforts,” said Hayden Hughes, ranch manager at Arapaho Valley Ranch. “These yurts are the perfect complement to our glamping tents and tipis.”
Beyond glamping, the ranch provides several traditional camping options. There are 12 RV sites—some with hookups—and 22 tent sites. Many of the campsites are located along the banks of the scenic South Fork of the Colorado River, offering easy access to riverside views and outdoor activities like fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing. Whether visitors seek a cozy glamping stay or a more rustic campsite, Arapaho Valley Ranch blends history, comfort and outdoor adventure for a memorable Colorado getaway.
