Hotel Indigo Expands With New Hotels in Three Cities

InterContinental Hotel Group is expanding its boutique Hotel Indigo brand with openings in three historic cities: St. Petersburg, Rome and Madrid. Each new property reflects the local culture and architecture while offering distinctive design, thoughtful amenities and a boutique hotel experience.

Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg – Tchaikovskogo, now open, sits in the heart of the city’s historic center between the Neva and Fontanka rivers. The hotel offers 119 guestrooms, many featuring floor-to-ceiling murals inspired by the nearby Summer Garden. Guests can enjoy a stylish on-site cocktail venue, Afisha Bar, and convenient access to the surrounding cultural landmarks and riverside promenades.

Opening this month, Hotel Indigo Rome occupies a prime location on Via Giulia in the center of the historic district. The intimate property includes 64 guestrooms that blend contemporary comforts with Renaissance influences. Stone accent walls, custom-made furniture and carefully selected Italian artwork create a refined atmosphere that complements Rome’s rich architectural heritage.

Scheduled to open in April, Hotel Indigo Madrid will become the brand’s second hotel in Spain, joining Hotel Indigo Barcelona. The Madrid property will feature 85 individually designed guestrooms and a rooftop terrace, offering city views and an elevated space for dining or relaxation. The design and programming are intended to reflect Madrid’s vibrant culture and neighborhood character.

Each new Hotel Indigo aims to deliver a locally inspired, boutique stay: distinctive interiors that echo local history, thoughtfully curated public spaces and amenities tailored to travelers seeking authentic urban experiences. With these openings, IHG continues to grow Hotel Indigo’s footprint in major European cities, providing more options for guests who value design-led hospitality rooted in local identity.
