Etihad Expands New York Service with Premium Upgrades

Etihad Airways will upgrade its service between John F. Kennedy International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport beginning June 1, 2017, responding to strong traveler demand. The current Boeing 777-300ER will be replaced by the airline’s Airbus A380, bringing Etihad’s flagship cabin products to the route.

The A380 on this route includes The Residence, a three-room private suite that offers a chauffeur-driven airport transfer, an onboard living area, bedroom and separate shower room, plus dedicated butler service. Also offered are nine First Apartments, each providing a private living space that converts into a fully flat bed. In addition, the aircraft carries 70 Business Studios and 415 economy seats, serving a broad range of passenger needs.

“The response we have received from Etihad Airways guests traveling between Abu Dhabi and New York since we launched the service nearly a decade ago has been phenomenal, and we are delighted to further expand our world-class product for all guests traveling to and from New York,” said Peter Baumgartner, CEO of Etihad Airways. He added that the airline remains committed to “totally reimagining the travel experience and delivering the highest levels of comfort, luxury and world-class hospitality at every point in the journey—on the ground and in the air—across all classes of service.”

This fall, Etihad Airways marks 10 years of service between Abu Dhabi and New York. With the A380 introduction, the carrier will operate two A380 flights daily between the two cities. Flights departing Abu Dhabi are scheduled at 3:35 a.m. and 10:10 a.m., while flights from New York depart at 3:00 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.
